The 2011 U.S T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II slate "Hercules" SGH-T989 now receives another software update early this year. Wait, it's not 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 Jelly Bean yet, it's Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich folks! The software update comes with a new baseband build version T989UVLI4 and it features some goodies that targets to fix the so-called Qualcomm issues, it's also adds-up security enhancement and Vlingo S Voice improvements. This update now starts live via OTA (over the air) and the manual method Samsung Kies, so there are two options for users to update their Galaxy S II devices.

Beginning January 24, the Samsung Galaxy S II (ICS only) will have a software update to Android version 4.0.4 / Baseband version T989UVLI4 via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update includes Qualcomm fix, security enhancements, and Vlingo S Voice improvements.
You can update in two ways:
- Over the air (OTA) update to T989UVLI4: If you want to update to T989UVLI4, you can update via OTA. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until February 7. There is no escalation option if the update has not been recieved.
- Manual download to T989UVLI4: If you want to update to T989UVLH1, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. Seehttp://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version.
