The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317M in Canada just received the official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OTA update with build number I317MVLBMA3. For users who wants to root this 4.1.2 VLBMA3 update and also for those who already lost root if it was rooted before the update - "4.1.1 I317MVLALJ2" can now simply root using the pre-rooted or root injected stock image I317MVLBMA3 which developed by an Elite Recognized Contributor MrRobinson from +xda-developers
This is a suitable rooting method for beginners who only needs root on their Galaxy Note 2 devices, and just only wants to perform an installation with any variety of apps from +Google Play that requires root.
One best thing about using the root injected stock image is that "it doesn't trip the binary flash counter of the Galaxy Note 2. If you doesn't know about what the heck this flash counter is. It's works just like a security system that has been installed in the device, this counter will trip and counts from zero to any numbers during an installation or flashing any system images that is not officially provided by Samsung, like root kernels, custom ROMs and custom recoveries. Once the counter being tripped, it was told that it voids the warranty of the device.
Although, it can be easily reset back to zero. But if you aren't that much a tech-savvy this will ease you from further tweaking. This is also a good root method for advance users who wants to install custom ROMs or recoveries like CWM or TWRP right after installation.
