AT&T has just released another OTA update on Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920A) to which will bump the firmware build number to G920AUCU2AOF4 from G920AUCU2AOF3. But yet again, this is not the awaited Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update yet, that anyone might have waited. The update will still remain in Android version 5.0.2 and not the 5.1.1 that we have been expecting for.
Even though it is not the 5.1.1 update but there something much more important stuff in it. The most useful part is the Android OS Security Enhancements, this is Google's new security patches that will going to fix the Stagefright bug. This is the same patches inclusion like the ones that has just recently rolled out on Galaxy S6 Active (SM-G890A), and likewise on Sprint Galaxy S6 (SM-G920P) and Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925P). On the other hand, we are also expecting T-Mobile and Verizon to roll out their own update in response to the Stagefright bug.
Here are the technical details about the G920AUCU2AOF4 5.0.2 update:
Android version: 5.0.2
Baseband version: G920AUCU2AOF4
Kernel version: 3.10.61-4823236
Build number: LRX22G.G920AUCU2AOF4
Software update includes:
The update file size is around 129MB, to which is now available via Over-The-Air (OTA) update. The rolling out is in stages, so make sure to tap on your phone's Settings> About device> Software update> Check for updates, if you haven't received the notification message yet. Also keep in mind and make sure that your Galaxy S6 edge has not been rooted or running on a modified system images before taking the software update.
