High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Canadian Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Update to (VLU2AOG2), No 5.1.1 yet but a Stagefright fix

Stagefright fixes to all Canadian Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners has rolled out. The Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8) update comes with build version G920W8VLU2AOG2, while the Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925W8) on the other hand, gets the G925W8VLU2AOG2 build version.  The update is not the Android 5.1.1 yet but still base on Android 5.0.2 just like the ones on previous updates. The update only brings the said Google's security patches to addressed the said ("Stagefright") vulnerabilities inside the Android OS.

The Stagefright has just recently discovered that allows attackers to take over a device when it's rigged with a malware-ridden MMS video. So every Android devices that were prone to the said bug will going to receive the same treatment to ensure that every device is safe from the aforementioned security flaws.

The update is sent out via Over-The-Air (OTA) update with a hefty file size of 363.13MB to download. The is update is held available to all Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge from all major Canadian carriers such Rogers, Telus, Rogers, Wind and even the subsidiary networks like Fido, Koodo, and among other else. You may try to manually check the update's availability if you did not receive the notification message yet, just simply tap on your phone's Settings> About device> Software update> Check for update.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
