High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Verizon Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Receives an Update to build (G920VVRU4BOG7 & G925VVRU4BOG7), But No Samsung Pay

Verizon  Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) and S6 Edge (SM-G925V) has also been receiving  a minor OTA update recently. The update will bump up the Galaxy S6 Android 5.1.1 OS to build G920VVRU4BOG7 while the Galaxy S6 Edge will move to G925VVRU4BOG7.  The update did not include the Samsung Pay and other new features like the Live broadcast but instead its just another Android security patch update. Noting that Verizon is the only carrier in the US that isn't part of the Samsung Pay as the debate is still ongoing between Samsung and Verizon.

Just about yesterday, the CEO of LoopPay - Will Graylin, has tweeted that Verizon Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users will be able to download the Samsung Pay via Google Play next week.  Meanwhile,  some users already managed to install the said Samsung Pay into their device using the Apps APK file itself, but somehow the activation process were still in a pending status.

The above updates were still available via Over-The-Air (OTA) update.  If you haven't received the software update notification message yet make sure to hit your device Settings > About phone > Check for update.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
