Galaxy S5 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update build G900FXXU1CPA5 Released by Accident

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F will get the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update very soon. A user in France claimed that he received the said Android Marshmallow update into his European version of the Galaxy S5 phone. The latter then revealed some of the screenshots of the said Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update dubbed with build number G900FXXU1CPA5, claiming that Samsung has accidentally released the update to his phone by accident. The said Android 6.0.1 update build G900FXXU1CPA5 is dated back in early January and contains a security patch level dated as January 2016.

Here are the technical details of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update build G900FXXU1CPA5:

Device: Galaxy S5
Model number: SM-G900F
Android version: 6.0.1
Android Security patch level: January 1, 2016
Baseband version: G900FXXU1CPA5
Kernel version: 3.4.0-6953519 dpi@SWHC3805 #1
Build number: MMB29M.G900FXXU1CPA5

Furthermore, The user received this build on the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) over-the-air OTA update.  As you can see on the screenshot above, you may notice that the Apps icons has changed into a rounded square. The firmware build details do look legitimate and there are no signs if this update is just a custom ROM, or a port firmware from other devices.  As you may also see at the bottom of the build details the "SE for Android Status" still claims that it is still "Enforcing" to which basically means that the device hasn't been rooted nor modified.

Samsung might intentionally pushed the Android Marshmallow update with the specific purpose to start testing them on some end user.  Needless however, we cannot predict the exact time to when the official roll-out start.

Paint On Galaxy Z Fold7 Phones Is Already Peeling Off, According To Consumers

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6. Despite users claiming they have not dropped their devices, paint delamination is occurring on the anodized aluminum body. Samsung’s support page for the Z Fold 6 suggests that poorly grounded third-party chargers can cause leakage currents, damaging the anodized finish and leading to paint chipping. This is why Samsung advises using only official chargers. However, since at least one affected user on Reddit reported using an official 25W Samsung charger, it raises concerns that the problem might not be solely due to third-party chargers. It could indicate potential issues with Samsung’s paint application process or possibly that their chargers might not fully prevent this damage under certain conditions. Received the phone and been using for almost a week. Treated the phone like a baby but the paint seems to start peeling off (sort of) day by ...
