Apple's two failed iPhones in 2025

The interest in the iPhone 17 series is high, particularly for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which are outselling their predecessors. The iPhone Air has a different tale to tell; sales haven't been great, with reports showing low demand and major production cuts.  In contrast to the heavily publicized flop of the iPhone Air, there hasn't been much info on how the iPhone 16e is doing in sales. Early reports suggested it was doing pretty well, but it seems that wasn't up to Apple's standards.  Sales of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air aren't meeting Apple's expectations, as per info from leaker Fixed Focus Digital (source in Chinese). While no exact figures were shared, the leaker suggests that Apple's effort to launch a popular, budget-friendly iPhone hasn't succeeded. Even with the challenges, Apple is still set to roll out successors for both models. The iPhone 17e is anticipated to launch on time in spring 2026, whereas the iPhone Air ...

Updating the Galaxy S6 edge via Over-The-Air (OTA)

This is the usual method on how to check and to perform an update on Galaxy S6 edge  to the latest software version.  This method is what we called Firmware Update  Over-The-Air and so-called as FOTA or simply OTA update. In most often cases, a notification message will be directly sent out to you by your network provider and by Samsung itself, telling you that there is a new update that has now available for download.  This approach requires you to prepare a strong WiFi connection,  and so it might happen sometimes that one did not receive any software update notification messages; (1) If and when the device is out of range during the software update roll out  period, (2) Automatic update has been turned off in the device Settings.
However, We can still manually check for the update instead.

Here’s how to do it manually:
  • From your Galaxy S6 edge Home screen tap on Apps.
  • Select the Settings gear icon.
  • Tap About device.
  • Tap Software update.
  • Tap Check for an update.

It will then notify you that a new update is available for download. But it also says that “Your device software is up to date“, and there is no software update is yet available for grab. You can simply choose Install now if you do so or else Install later if you want to get the update in later time.

But if ever you might have had received this message while checking software update that says something like “The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.”  This is a warning message that only appears for those devices that have been rooted and installed with modified and unofficial firmware.  So to be able to get the Software OTA update again, you must Unroot the Galaxy S6 edge first, and or removed any modification that has been installed in it.

Update the Galaxy S6 edge using Smart Switch for PC

Download Smart Switch for PC

You have to choose the one that is specifically built for computer, depends on what you have either a PC or Mac.  Once you installed Smart Switch, all you need to do is to connect your Samsung Galaxy S6 on your  computer using the supplied USB  cable.
  1. Open Smart Switch in your computer.
  2. Connect the Galaxy S6  into the computer using the supplied USB data cable.
  3. Smart Switch will automatically prompt you if the update is available. Just click on the “update” then the “OK”  button to begin updating your Galaxy S6.

    What does this mean?

The following functions have been deleted: Facebook Messanger, Instagram, Whatsapp.

Will I no longer be able to use those apps?

This update is horrible. How do I get rid of the double locked screen.

  3. You can still use it. Those are 3rd party apps and not related to Samsung nor from T-Mobile. They deleted it intentionally as it caused some issues running on Android M. You can still reinstall it all by yourself from playstore.

Hi, I have SM-G920T factory unlocked version (G920TUEU3COK1). Can I Install this upgrade 6.0.1 manually trough ODIN? There are no marshmallow updates on my device by OTA or KIES. Or better wait for the update for this specific device.

  5. It will work though. Same model number means same firmware but differs on each baseband, CSC, buildnumbers. The factory unlock version is directly supported by Samsung itself whilst T-Mo solely support their own SM-G920T.
