A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. Verizon Galaxy S6 & S6 edge Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update Roll Out Begins, Builds G920VVRU4CPC2 & G925VVRU4CPC2
Verizon Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) and the S6 edge (SM-G925V) Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update rolls out has started. According to Verizon's announcement the Galaxy S6 will receive the said Android M update dubbed with software version MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPC2. While the S6 edge on the other hand will get the software version MMB29K.G925VVRU4CPC2.
The update brings the Doze power management to preserve the battery life, Live broadcast improvements, and the newly improved Edge panel functions for the Galaxy S6 edge. Along with it is the new security patches for the month of March 2016. Noting that Samsung and Google had been imposed the monthly security patch update on newer devices. While the rest are several bug fixes to optimize the device performance.
The update weighs at approximately 1.5 GB in file size to which are being held available via Over-The-Air. The rolls out usually being pushed into stages and may takes several days before it reaches to all devices, so better check the update manually by going to Settings > About device > Software Update > Check for updates, if you haven’t prompted the availability of this update yet. You must also ensure that your phone has not been rooted nor modified or otherwise the update may fail and you may not get the update.
