AT&T Galaxy Note 5 Receive Wi-Fi Calling, Advance Messaging, and September Security Patch Update N920AUCU3CPHA

AT&T has started rolling out the September Security patch update dubbed as build version N920AUCU3CPHA. This update is part of the monthly Android device security maintenance, to which to be release once in every month.  This update will also enables the Wi-Fi Calling, Advance Messaging support for the device. There might also some several bug-fixes and system improvements that weren't mentioned in the released notes hence the update's file size is a hefty 431MB compared to the previous released build version N920AUCS3BPH4 last month to which only weighs at 33.5 MB.

So those who got AT&T's Galaxy Note 5 in hand, you folks might the update in your device right now.

  • Wi-Fi Calling – enables voice calling and text messaging over Wi-Fi networks
  • Advanced Messaging - enables AT&T Advanced Messaging services
  • Android device security updates

You may check the update manually if you haven’t received the notification message yet.  Your phone must be on current build version MMB29K. N920AUCS3BPH4 to get the update straight into your device. While those phone running on the previous released build like MMB29K. N920AUCS2BPG1, you folks might repeat the update process until your receive the build version MMB29K. N920AUCU3CPHA.


Just do the following simple steps and you’ll update your Galaxy Note 5 in no time.
  1. From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
  2. Tap the Settings (gear icon).
  3. Tap the System tab.
  4. Tap About device.
  5. Tap Software update.
  6. Tap Check for updates.
  7. Tap the Install button, then OK.
  8. Wait until the phone completely reboot before touching it. It may reboot (turn on and off) multiple times as the update might still at its finalization stage.

However, if somehow the update isn’t available yet, you should also consider that the released usually take in stages and may also take days before it arrives in some areas. So you may have to wait and keep on checking until you get the update.
