Sprint Galaxy Note 5 receives the Android security patch update that covers both August and September month fixe. The security patch update is supposed to be rolled out once in every month but the August security patch haven't been released last month while the previous released is way back in July. Aside from the security patch, it also adds up some sort of improvements to the WiFi Calling Client, according to Sprint. The said update will bump the Android Marshmallow firmware build version to N920PVPU2BPH9.
The update is release in stages beginning September 14 until September 20, 2016 to completely arrive on all Sprint Galaxy Note 5 users.
The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note 5 to a Wi-Fi network to avoid high data charges. Ensure that your device battery is recharged before performing the software update. The phone must not have been rooted or otherwise the update may fail or it may cause a fatal error. - From the device Home screen, simply touch Apps.
- Touch the Settings (gear icon).
- Touch the System tab.
