Apple's two failed iPhones in 2025

The interest in the iPhone 17 series is high, particularly for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which are outselling their predecessors. The iPhone Air has a different tale to tell; sales haven't been great, with reports showing low demand and major production cuts.  In contrast to the heavily publicized flop of the iPhone Air, there hasn't been much info on how the iPhone 16e is doing in sales. Early reports suggested it was doing pretty well, but it seems that wasn't up to Apple's standards.  Sales of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air aren't meeting Apple's expectations, as per info from leaker Fixed Focus Digital (source in Chinese). While no exact figures were shared, the leaker suggests that Apple's effort to launch a popular, budget-friendly iPhone hasn't succeeded. Sprint Galaxy Note5 Update version N920PVPS3BQA1, January 2017 Android Security Patches

Yet another month and another Android security updates is hitting on Sprint Galaxy Note5 SM-N920P. The update bumps up the device OS to build version N920PVPS3BQA1 from N920PVPS3BPL1. It is just a minor OTA update bringing the January 2017 Android security patches. So there is nothing more to expect any noticeable changes.

Anyways, though this update is still in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based, but yet the Android 7.0 Nougat is just around the corner. Since the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge has just recently started getting the said Nougat updates, so it should be the Galaxy Note5 is among the first in the next lineups.

How to Update the Galaxy Note 5 via Over-The-Air (OTA)


The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note 5 to a Wi-Fi network to avoid high data charges. Ensure that your device battery is recharged before performing the software  update. The phone must not have been rooted or otherwise the update may fail or it may cause a fatal error. You must fully unroot your Galaxy Note5 first before performing the software update.
  • From the device Home screen, simply touch Apps.
  • Touch the Settings (gear icon).
  • Touch the System tab.
  • Touch About device.
  • Touch Software update.
  • Touch Check for updates. It will then prompts you to the new software update.
  • Lastly, touch the Install button, then OK.

Update your Galaxy Note 5 using your computer via Smart Switch PC


This method is always handy on some part, especially if you have missed the update and you’re left behind to the update’s scheduled dates that usually only took place and runs in weeks. You can still easily update your Galaxy Note 5 using your PC or Mac. All you need is a USB cable and then the Smart Switch firmware update tool. Smart Switch is similar to the before Kies that have been used to older devices. Also, Smart Switch has the capability to back up and restore your data in just a few clicks away.
  1. Download Smart Switch for PC and MAC computers version and then  install it on your computer.
  2. Connect your Galaxy Note5 on your computer using the USB cable.
  3. Run Smart Switch, then wait until it recognizes the connection of the device. If the update is available it will automatically prompt you to update your device.
  4. Click on the Update button. Some other steps like on how to backup and restore your data is included in the instructions.

Again do not touch the phone like disconnecting the USB cable if the software update has started. You may need to wait much longer while updating via Smart Switch as your firmware is being served by Samsung itself. The Smart Switch firmware file is a much larger to the ones released via Over The Air but were still the same file.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
