Yet another month and another Android security updates is hitting on Sprint Galaxy Note5 SM-N920P. The update bumps up the device OS to build version N920PVPS3BQA1 from N920PVPS3BPL1. It is just a minor OTA update bringing the January 2017 Android security patches. So there is nothing more to expect any noticeable changes.
Anyways, though this update is still in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based, but yet the Android 7.0 Nougat is just around the corner. Since the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge has just recently started getting the said Nougat updates, so it should be the Galaxy Note5 is among the first in the next lineups.

Ensure that your device battery is recharged before performing the software update. The phone must not have been rooted or otherwise the update may fail or it may cause a fatal error. You must fully unroot your Galaxy Note5 first before performing the software update.
This method is always handy on some part, especially if you have missed the update and you’re left behind to the update’s scheduled dates that usually only took place and runs in weeks. How to Update the Galaxy Note 5 via Over-The-Air (OTA)
