Verizon has just pushed an update for the Samsung Galaxy Note5 (SM-N920V). The update will bump up the device current Android OS to build version N920VVRS3BQA1 from previous released build N920VVRS3BPL4. Yet, the update does not bring any significant changes nor any adverse effects to the device, as it only brings the recent January 2017 Android security patch. Also, it has stayed in Android Marshmallow and not the much awaited Nougat update so far.
The update rolls out starts on January 31, 2017 and will run in a couple of weeks. It is now live via Over-The-Air OTA update and thru big red's owned software upgrade assistant tool as we speak.
What’s New:
Build version details:
The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note 5 to a Wi-Fi network to avoid high data charges. Ensure that your device battery is recharged before performing the software update. The phone must not have been rooted or otherwise the update may fail or it may cause a fatal error. You must fully unroot your Galaxy Note5 first before performing the software update.
