Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Verizon Galaxy Note 5 Android 7.0 Nougat OTA Update N920VVRU3CQB9 Now Available

Verizon has also started pushing the Android 7.0 Nougat updates on Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920V. Big red has just made an announcement that an OTA update dubbed as OS version NRD90M.N920VVRU3CQB9 has officially released and are now available for its Galaxy Note 5 users. Among all major US carriers, this rolls out has put Verizon at the 3rd spot to unleash the said Nougat on Galaxy Note 5, next to Sprint and AT&T.

The Android 7.0 Nougat brings some new features, including the Advanced S Pen, Battery management, split screen, updated keyboard, and a lot more.

How to Update a Galaxy Note 5 via Over The Air (OTA Update)


The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note 5 to a Wi-Fi network to avoid high data charges.
  • From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
  • Tap the Settings (gear icon).
  • Tap the System tab.
  • Tap About device.
  • Tap Software update.
  • Tap Check for updates.
  • Tap the Install button, then OK.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6. Despite users claiming they have not dropped their devices, paint delamination is occurring on the anodized aluminum body. Samsung’s support page for the Z Fold 6 suggests that poorly grounded third-party chargers can cause leakage currents, damaging the anodized finish and leading to paint chipping.
