If you owns a Verizon galaxy S6 edge+ and have had experienced unwanted dropped on Voice over Wi-Fi calls, then you must update your device now. According to big red, a new update is coming to all Galaxy S6 edge+ users beginning July 27, 2017. This update includes several improvements and fixes, including to minimize the dropped problem on Voice over Wi-Fi calls, fixes issue that was preventing you from adding the Google search app while the device is in Easy Mode, and the notification for no app space when adding an app icon or widget to the Home screen.
In addition, the said update also includes and applies the latest Android security patches. It basically contains the June 1, 2017 Android security patch level.
This software update brings the latest Android security patches and the following improvements:
The update rolls out begins on July 27, 2017, and basically runs for a couple of weeks.
So if you’ve got a AT&T Galaxy S6 active, you can manually check for a software update by going into Settings > About device> Check for an Update.
Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.
From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install the update.
The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
