Apple's two failed iPhones in 2025

The interest in the iPhone 17 series is high, particularly for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which are outselling their predecessors. The iPhone Air has a different tale to tell; sales haven't been great, with reports showing low demand and major production cuts.  In contrast to the heavily publicized flop of the iPhone Air, there hasn't been much info on how the iPhone 16e is doing in sales. Early reports suggested it was doing pretty well, but it seems that wasn't up to Apple's standards.  Sales of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air aren't meeting Apple's expectations, as per info from leaker Fixed Focus Digital (source in Chinese). While no exact figures were shared, the leaker suggests that Apple's effort to launch a popular, budget-friendly iPhone hasn't succeeded. AT&T Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956U) and Galaxy Z Flip6 (SM-F741U) December Device Security Updates

 An update for AT&T Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956U) and Galaxy Z  Flip6 (SM-F741U) are now available via the Over-The-Air (OTA). The update is said to bring the latest security patches as of 1 December 2024. and some minor improvements to the Android 14 stability and reliability. So better check your device settings, and check for the update if you've missed the update notification. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956U) will receive the new Android 14 baseband version number "F956USQS2AXKF" from F956USQU2AXK8, while the Galaxy Z Flip6 (SM-F741U) will be updated to "F741USQS2AXKF" from F741USQU2AXK8.

These update are simultaneously rolled out and are available via Over-The-Air (OTA) and thru an update notification in "SETTINGS" if the device is Wi-Fi connected.
The Android 14 update includes Samsung's One UI 6.0 and features significant improvements in customization, privacy, performance, and accessibility. Enhanced customization New lock screen options: A new lock screen customization picker makes it easier to change clock faces, fonts, colors, and shortcuts. You can also set custom lock screen shortcuts for your most-used controls. More wallpaper and theme options: You can create custom wallpapers using AI (on some devices), and the system's "Material You" theming has more precise color-matching and a new monochromatic theme for a sleek look. 
  
  Intuitive Flex Window: For your outer cover screen, the update adds a wider variety of widgets, video wallpapers, and clock faces for more personalization. Improved privacy and security Enhanced PIN security: The system recommends a more secure 6-digit PIN. With a PIN of six digits or more, you can enable automatic unlocking after entering the correct code. You can also turn off the on-screen animations that appear when entering your PIN to thwart "shoulder surfers". Better app data control: Android 14 provides more information about how apps use and share your data, making it easier to make informed decisions about granting permissions. It also offers a "selective media access" feature, allowing you to grant an app access to only specific photos and videos. 

  Health Connect integration: The Health Connect feature is now built directly into the settings menu, providing a centralized and encrypted hub for all your health and fitness data from various apps. Protection against old malware: To combat malware that targets older Android versions, the update blocks the installation of apps designed for versions below Android 6.0. Better performance and battery life Optimized system performance: Under-the-hood improvements to the Android Runtime (ART) and memory management make devices run faster and more efficiently. Background processes are managed better, and animations are smoother. 

  Increased battery efficiency: The update includes power-saving optimizations that result in improved battery life, especially when the device is idle. Expanded accessibility Increased font size: Users with low vision can scale the system font size up to 200% (from 130% in Android 13) and use a new nonlinear font scaling feature that prevents larger text elements from becoming disproportionately huge. 

  Flash notifications: You can now enable "Flash notifications" in the settings, which uses the camera flash or screen to flash when a notification comes in. This is a helpful visual alert for those with hearing impairments. Enhanced magnifier: The improved magnifier feature has more intuitive controls and can be kept on while switching between apps.

We've all been anticipating the release of the stable version of Samsung's One UI 8 beta program, which is based on Android 16. The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
