Android Central told, that One of the lucky guy who get the HTC One ahead of its release period confirms this by posting some pics while hes into unlocking the bootloader process. The device is now also installed with international version of CWM recovery and has rooted.

The folks also emphasized that there are downsides of this unlock bootloader procedure, it will delete all data stored from the phone after unlock. Some apps were also removed such as the Calculator, Flashlight, Ringtone Trimmer and Sound Recorder and it will not able to receive any OS updates.
