Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Verizon HTC One received a S-Off treatment using the 'Rumrunner S-Off Tool'.  A working Verizon HTC One S-OFF tool is now available for those who wants to start-over and has been planning to install ROMs and flashing custom recoveries. The process on achieving S-Off is quite simpler, it only requires users to be running on Windows or a 32-bit Linux computers and with the proper USB driver installed.

The Rumrunner S-Off tool can now be downloaded at XDA and of-course with the step by step instructions to read-on. This toll will only work work for those devices running with 100% pure stock firmware or stock kernel. The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6. Despite users claiming they have not dropped their devices, paint delamination is occurring on the anodized aluminum body. Samsung’s support page for the Z Fold 6 suggests that poorly grounded third-party chargers can cause leakage currents, damaging the anodized finish and leading to paint chipping. This is why Samsung advises using only official chargers.
