Verizon has pushed an OTA update on Galaxy S5 (SM-900V) to which came out as build version MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPJ2.
The latter isn't a Nougat update for the device but still in Android Marshmallow base. The update only contains and applies the new Android security patch for the month of October and November. It is quite somehow similar to the previous update build version MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPG2 that also bears the September Android security patches.
In addition, this update is now the fourth Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update we've seen on Verizon Galaxy S5 alone. This simply means that this device is still rocking around even though it's already succeeded by the Galaxy S6, and the Galaxy S7 for a quite sometime now.
Previous Update:
This is usually how the carrier branded or locked Samsung Galaxy S5, performs a software update. This method is Firmware Update through over the air or called as OTA update, which most often a notification message will directly send out to you from your network provider and notifies you that there is a new update available for download. If you did not receive any notification messages you can manually check for the update instead. Doing so you may only navigate on your Galaxy S5 SM-G900V Settings > System updates > Check for new system update.
It will automatically tells you that a new update is available. You can simply tap install now when you want to perform an update or install later.

My Phone sounds like i'm talking in a tunnel. How can i put these options back to how they were.
ReplyDeleteThe update gave me some setup switches after the update. The switches I learned to be the volume up and down keys. Now they only serve this new function, and I can't adjust the volume anymore. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have Update.zip for this OTA?
ReplyDeleteI believe Verizon devices are no longer supported with Kies/Smart Switch for PC. You may try Verizon software upgrade assistant.
ReplyDeleteTry to perform Wipe cache/factory data reset. Don't forget to create a backup of your stored data.
ReplyDeleteA factory data reset may help.
ReplyDeleteyep I do have it.
