High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Verizon Galaxy S5 March 2017 Security Patch Updates MMB29M.G900VVRU2DQC2

Verizon is pushing an OTA update for Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) containing the March 1, 2017 Android Security patch level. Noting that big red's has also unleashed the Android 7.0 Nougat updates on its Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 flagships. Even though the Galaxy S5 will never get any Android 7.0 Nougat treatment, but the Big Red still ensures that the device will receive the Security Maintenance Release (SMR) in a monthly basis.  The update has moved the device recent Android 6.0.1 OS to build version MMB29M.G900VVRU2DQC2 from previous released build MMB29M.G900VVRS2DQB2.

Aside from Android security patches, it also includes fixes to an email issue and updates the Amazon Shopping app.  Fixes an issue that prevented Outlook 2007 and 2003 users from accessing and downloading email attachments, according to Verizon addressed changelog details.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy S5 G900V to Marshmallow via Over-The-Air (OTA)


This is usually how the carrier branded or locked Samsung Galaxy S5, performs a software update.  This method is Firmware Update through over the air or called as OTA update, which most often  a notification message will directly send out to you from your network provider and notifies you that there is a new update available for download.  If you did not receive any notification messages you can manually check for the update instead.  Doing so you may only navigate on your Galaxy S5 SM-G900V  Settings > System updates > Check for new system update.

  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.

  • Tap the Settings icon.

  • Tap System update.

  • Tap Check for new system update.

It will automatically tells you that a new update is available. You can simply tap install now when you want to perform an update or install later.


The other option is to use the Verizon software update tool itself, from where you  simply plug-in your phone into your computer to perform an update.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
