Owners of the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I) and S6 edge (SM-G925I) are now started receiving monthly Android security maintenance in select regions in Asia. Samsung has started the rolling out the August 2017 Security Updates on the said Galaxy S6 variants. The update has now making its way in India, Nepal, Bagladesh, and Sri Lanka. While other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America regions that also shares the same Galaxy S6 models might also follow soon.
Again, the update will only bump up the Galaxy S6 G920I and S6 edge G925I Android security patch level to August 1, 2017. The Galaxy S6 will move its recent Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version G920IDVS3FQH2. While the Galaxy S6 edge will also get the update version G925IDVS3FQH2.
Here goes the following details on each device updates;
If you owns a Galaxy S6 or a Galaxy S6 edge and yet haven’t received the said updates, just make sure to hit your device Settings > About device > Software info > Check for Updates.
From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install the update.
The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
