High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and S6 edge+ August 2017 Android Security UpdatesRolling Out in Europe

Samsung has started the rolling out the monthly Android security maintenance  on Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F), Galaxy S6 edge SM-G925F), and Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928F) variants. This update includes the August 2017 Android security patches.  The released has now seen available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, and France,  and there's no doubt that it will also starts hitting the rest of the European regions in few days.

The August 2017 security maintenance released has 50 patches for Android OS vulnerabilities and 12 for the Samsung's owned applications.

Again, only Samsung can decide to where and when the next deployment happens. But one thing for sure, these update will be available to the rest of the regions in Europe in the next couple of days.

So if you've got Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and or a Galaxy S6 edge+ and haven't received the said updates, just make sure to keep on eyeing on it and simply update your device.

How to Update a Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ via Over-The-Air


Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.
From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install the update.
The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
