Apple's two failed iPhones in 2025

The interest in the iPhone 17 series is high, particularly for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which are outselling their predecessors. The iPhone Air has a different tale to tell; sales haven't been great, with reports showing low demand and major production cuts.  In contrast to the heavily publicized flop of the iPhone Air, there hasn't been much info on how the iPhone 16e is doing in sales. Early reports suggested it was doing pretty well, but it seems that wasn't up to Apple's standards.  Sales of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air aren't meeting Apple's expectations, as per info from leaker Fixed Focus Digital (source in Chinese). While no exact figures were shared, the leaker suggests that Apple's effort to launch a popular, budget-friendly iPhone hasn't succeeded. Even with the challenges, Apple is still set to roll out successors for both models. The iPhone 17e is anticipated to launch on time in spring 2026, whereas the iPhone Air ...

How to Update Galaxy S5 G900W8 to 5.0 Lollipop via Over-The-Air (OTA)

This is usually how the carrier branded or locked Samsung Galaxy S5, performs a software update.  This method is Firmware Update through over the air or called as OTA update, which most often  a notification message will directly sent to you from your network provider and notifies you that there is a new update available for download.  If you did not receive any notification messages you can manually check for the update instead.  Doing so you may only navigate on your Galaxy S5 SM-G900W8 Settings>>About Device, then tap Software Update.
  • Find “Software update”
  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
  • Tap the settings icon.
  • Tap About device.
  • Tap Software update.

It will automatically tells you that a new update is available or your software is up to date when there is none yet. You can simply tap install now when you want to perform an update or install later. The G900W8VLU1BOB3 Android 5.0 update is around 900+ MB in file size while updating via Over-The-Air (OTA) update.

How to Get the Lollipop Update using Kies

The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Kies. You may head-over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download Samsung Kies from there, and install it in your Windows or Mac computer. Choose the new Kies 3 which supports the Galaxy S5 SM-G900W8 and other Samsung devices running from Android KitKat, and up to Lollipop OS .  Once you installed Kies 3, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F to the computer using the USB cable, then simply run and follow Kies on-screen software update instructions.

Update: Samsung has officially puled the update due to an issue in the home button. The Lollipop update update is  being replaced with released build version G900W8VLU1BOC1.

  1. Need help... I have tried OTA, and have tried Kies, and says my Rogers S5 is up to date, on 4.4.2. Kies show that the firmware, and band info is the same. Not sure what to do, Rogers asked if I unlocked the phone third party, would that make a difference?

  2. Try to change the date 24hours forward. Then do OTA again, it's just a basic tricks but not a 100% solution but it worked sometimes.

I have the same problem on Fido. Currently on 4.4.2 and whenever I click check for update it says I already have the latest firmware. Connected to Kies3 on the pc and it doesn't give an option to update to 5.0 lollipop either.
