High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Xiaomi 17 series: The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were confirmed as the first phones to use this chip. Sony Xperia C (MTK6589) AOSP Source Code Now Available for Download

Yet another Japanese mobile phone manufacturer Sony was releasing the new flagship called Sony Xperia C. In-fact the source code is now live for after-market developers out there. The Sony Xperia C device was announced earlier this year and now available in China and soon coming to some countries in Asia. The Sony Xperia C will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and this device is built with Dual SIM feature. The display of Sony Xperia C is packed with a 5-inch capacitive touch screen and equipped with 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6589 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The Sony Xperia C Camera offers a 8 megapixel rear camera with Auto Focus, LED Flash, Exmor R sensor and it's capable of recording full HD videos while there is a 0.3 megapixel on-front facing camera. The storage capacity has 4GB on-board and can be expanded up to 32GB using external microSD card. When it comes to connectivity, Sony Xperia C also allows 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS connection. There are also three colors to choose from either black, white or purple and price tags may varies to each specific countries.

We've all been anticipating the release of the stable version of Samsung's One UI 8 beta program, which is based on Android 16. The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6. Despite users claiming they have not dropped their devices, paint delamination is occurring on the anodized aluminum body. Samsung’s support page for the Z Fold 6 suggests that poorly grounded third-party chargers can cause leakage currents, damaging the anodized finish and leading to paint chipping. This is why Samsung advises using only official chargers. However, since at least one affected user on Reddit reported using an official 25W Samsung charger, it raises concerns that the problem might not be solely due to third-party chargers.
