The One UI 8 Android 16 software update for AT&T Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy Edge, and Galaxy Ultra has finally rolling out. If you have a rooted Galaxy S6 chances is that you won't be able to get the latest OTA update. Instead you might only received this error messages that says like;
A rooted Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is technically cannot get and will no longer receive an official support from Samsung itself. However, what Samsung does is to notify the Galaxy S6 users that the device has been modified and advises anyone to try to perform a software update using Smart Switch within a PC.
So, if ever you'll get the error message and wasn't been able to install the latest update, all you need is Download the Smart Switch. Simply install it into your computer and try to perform an update manually. Just make sure that you Galaxy S6 still have at-least 40% of the battery's remaining power.
The whole process will run and depends to how large the firmware update file is, so you must wait until it says "Software update and Initialization are complete". Once finishes, just restore the previously backup data from your computer into your Galaxy S6.

- Launch Smart Switch in your computer.
- Connect your Galaxy S6 into your computer via USB data cable.
- Click Backup icon to back up your important data first and foremost such as Contacts, Messages, Call Log, Videos, Music, Photos, Application and other stuff.
- Click on More..., then choose Emergency software recovery and initialization.
- Select “Software Update and Initialization” tab.
