Sprint Galaxy Note5 Gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA Update, Release build N920PVPU2BPC3

Sprint has also released the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on Galaxy Note5 (SM-N920P to which came out as release build N920PVPU2BPC3.   It is now live via Over-The-Air as we speak and weighs the download file size  at 1362.41MB. Along with the  Marshmallow OS upgrade is the most recent Google and Android security patch updated to which also bumps up its level  to March 1, 2016. The roll out will be in phases and starts on March 24, 2016 until April 8, 2016, according to Sprint. How to Update Sprint Galaxy Note 5 via Over The Air (OTA)


The Over The Air (OTA) update requires you to connect your Galaxy Note 5 to a WiFi network to ease you on high data charges.

Make sure to recharge your phone. A power failure may interrupt the updating progress. If necessary, you may also create a backup copy of all of your important files stored in the phone’s memory, so that if something might went wrong during the update process your files is in safe place already.  You may also need to perform a factory reset if you want a cleaner and a much fresher firmware installation. This process  will help out to get rid of  some lag issues once the new update has made.
  • From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
  • Tap the Settings (gear icon).
  • Tap the System tab.
  • Tap About device.
  • Tap Software update.
  • Tap Check for updates.
  • Tap the Install button, then OK.

Wait until the phone completely reboot before touching it. It may reboot (turn on and off) multiple times as the update might still at its finalization stage. If the update is available, it will prompt you the update’s technical details including on how to download and install it. If somehow the update isn’t available yet, you may have to wait and keep on checking later on until you get the update.
