Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. Sprint Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge has also started receiving it's May security updates. A new Android 7.0 Nougat update dubbed as version G920PVPS4DQE2 is hitting Sprint Galaxy S6 (SM-G920P). While the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925P) also gotten its update to version G925PVPS4DQE2. These updates brings the May 1, 2017 Android security patch level, but as as well also includes some improvements to the earlier Nougat updates (G920PVPU4DQC7 and G925PVPU4DQC7) way back in April.
What's New:
For those who haven't updated to Nougat yet here are the new features:
From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install the update.
The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
