The One UI 8 Android 16 software update for AT&T Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy Edge, and Galaxy Ultra has finally rolling out. The update came out early this morning, including Verizon, T-Mobile, and among other carriers in United States. Earlier in June, T-Mobile has rolled the Android 7.0 Nougat updates on Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. This time around a new update is being pushed of which has the monthly Android security maintenance updates.
A new software update for Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) dubbed as build number G920TUVS5FQG1 and for the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925T) with build number G925TUVS5FQG1 will be hitting on both devices this week. These releases contain the monthly security update to which basically bumps up the said devices Android security patch level to July 1, 2017.
So if you’ve got a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 or S6 edge, you can manually check for a software update by going into Settings > About device> Check for an Update.
Here goes the update details:
Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.
From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install the update.
The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
