AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 Edge & S6 Active Receiving Meltdown and Spectre Migration Patches

AT&T has just recently released an update that brings the Meltdown and Spectre migration patches to their Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active devices. Moreover,  the said update primarily contains the January 1st 2018 security patches, as part of the monthly Android Security Maintenance Release (SMR) of which provided by Google and Samsung. The Galaxy S6 receives a 50.1MB  software update and move its current Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version  G920AUCS7ERA2 . While the Galaxy S7 edge will also get a 50.5MB update that bumps the device OS version to  G925AUCS7ERA2 . On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Active also move to  G890AUCS7DRA2 , with an update file size of 51 MB. The rolling out starts on January 26, 2018 and may only last for a couple of days.

Meltdown and Spectre Security Updates Hitting Verizon Galaxy S6, S6Edge/S6 Edge+

In recent events that there is a new concern about the Meltdown and Spectre that also includes and targets the mobile devices data, aside from personal computers.  Luckily enough, Verizon has just released an update that brings the said Meltdown and Spectre Security Updates on their Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ line-up. So if you are a Verizon Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ users, you folks might already receive or about to get the new Firmware Over-The-Air update to iron out the said  issues. The update  starts hitting the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ devices starting January 25, according to big red. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will bump up to version Galaxy S6 edge+ (Plus) to version NRD90M.G928VVRS3CRA1 , while the Galaxy S6 edge will also move to version  NRD90M.G925VVRS4DRA1 , and the Galaxy S6  to version  NRD90M.G920VVRS4DRA1. T-Mobile Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 edge+ Receiving January 1st 2018 Security Updates

T-Mobile has started rolling out a new firmware update to their Galaxy S6, Galaxy  S6 Edge, and  Galaxy S6 edge+ users. The update is said to bring the monthly Android security maintenance of which now covers the January 1st 2018 security patches.  Aside form Google and Samsung  security updates, it also includes a minor bug fixes and other system improvements. Each update ere dubbed as release build G928TUVS5ERA1 for the Galaxy S6 Edge plus , G925TUVS6FRA3  for the Galaxy S6 edge , and   G920TUVS6FRA3   for the standard Galaxy S6 . Blueborne Security Patch Updates Hitting Verizon Galaxy S6, S6edge, and S6 edge Plus

Verizon has recently released an update for Galaxy S6, S6edge, and S6 edge Plus dubbed as Blueborne Security Patch. The Galaxy S6 bumps up to version NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQI1 , while the Galaxy S6 edge will also move to version NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQI1 , and the Galaxy S6 edge+ (Plus) to version NRD90M.G928VVRS3CQI2 .

Here comes the end of August 2017, and September approaches too past.  That means another batch of the monthly Android security updates were making its rounds on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge users all over the world.
