High-End Android Phones Powered with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Some smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 have already been launched in China, with many expecting a global release shortly after. A growing list of flagship smartphones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was officially announced in late September 2025. The chipset is anticipated to power top-tier Android devices throughout late 2025 and 2026, with several phones already confirmed or heavily rumored. Sprint Galaxy S5 update version G900PVPU3BOG1, contains a patch to fix Stagefright bug

If you owned a Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P), you must check for the  new OTA update right now. There is a new OTA update dubbed as build version G900PVPU3BOG1 is heading on its way to all Sprint Galaxy S5 owners. This is not the Android 5.1.1, Lollipop, that everyone might have been waiting and looking for, but it contains a security patch to fix and resolve an issue about the Stagefright bug.  The Stagefright is one of the biggest security flaws on smartphones and tablets. It is a malware that has the capability to control the phone's Android OS once being infected. The said bug is injected on some applications and websites that intentionally designed just to bug any Android smartphones.

So this is a must and very important update for those who might have had already compromised their phones.

The update is usually rolled out Over The Air (OTA) in stages, you may simply manually check the update if you haven’t received the notification message yet. Just simply tap on Settings>About device>Software update>Check for update.

    I wonder when we'll see 5.1. Unlike many users, I find stock Lollipop very satisfactory and am especially pleased with the improved camera performance. Still, I'd like to be able to flash a custom ROM or, at least, customize the stock ROM just to suit my own tastes. If it ever becomes possible to flash a Nexus-like ROM, I'll be all over it.

    The problem now, though, is that all of the available firmware downloads/root procedures that I've seen are advertised to work on the G900PVPU3BOG1 firmware build. In fact most require that your ROM /= 5.0; and the one root process I did find for 5.0 only works on the "vanilla" release, before the Stagefright fix.

    What's the holdup at Sprint?

The paint chipping issue reported by some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 users appears to be a recurring problem that was also seen with the Z Fold 6.
